We offer a range of courses, some essential or mandatory, but all designed to help and support volunteers to carry out their role safely. feel confident in the role they have volunteered for and work with the rest of the team.
Safeguarding is a legal requirement when working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
All our staff and volunteers will undergo safeguarding training as part of the induction process from basic to more extensive training, depending on the volunteering role undertaken. In addition, as our DBS checks are carried out through the Diocese, volunteers are required to attend 1 day Diocesan Safeguarding session. At present this is being conducted online via zoom and may be in conjunction with other projects on the site eg the trustees, foodbank for those who do not feel confident doing online courses on their own.
Safeguarding training, updates and refresher courses will be delivered on a regular basis by StEP or with Bromley Safeguarding Board.
All expenses will be met by StEP and times will, where possible, be arranged to suit individual’s circumstances.
